There is no bassist.
If you would like to play bass, we don't need a zen master to play, we just need anyone with a bass that knows basically how to play it. Now, we expect you to eventually be pretty good, to eventually get some bass solo's and some freaky lines in. If you have a bass, have an amplifier for that bass, and a body, you qualify. Oh, and of course, you have to be up for playing this type of music.
